Made from high-performance fluoroplastic compounds and engineered plastics that have outstanding physical and technical characteristics, but are rigid rather than flexible.
Use springs to provide a consistent load throughout the circumference of the seal and create a leak-tight seal between the jacket and the hardware.
Use system pressure to create an additional sealing force between the jacket and the hardware.
In this combination, the spring forces the seal lips against the gland and rod surfaces, while pressure assists the spring force.
The result: virtual leak-free sealing, high reliability, longer asset life.

A spring-energized seal consists of a high performance polymer sleeve and a finger spring. The polymeric sleeve has a U-shaped profile and it can be made of PTFE, PTFE Carbon, PTFE Graphite, PTFE Bronze or PTFE Glass. The finger spring can be a V-spring (meander spring), Helical spring or canted coil spring. The spring materials can be made of stainless steel, PEEK or Inconel.
This type of seal is capable of handling extreme service conditions, such as ultra-low friction, chemical compatibility and extreme temperature is required. The spring will energize the sealing lip even at low pressure and also at high pressure. It was designed especially for turbine engines, rockets, missiles, and also to serve the most challenging oil and gas applications.
